What are our thinking different from the past

In current affairs on Friday, 19th of Feburary, we discussed many things. One of them are how our thinking are differnet from the thinking of people in the past. A few of my class mates shared their opinions and had a great discussion. To add on, i feel that we young people take things for granted. Example, young children like to order maids aroung as if they were slaves even for a simple task like taking a drink. People from the past would certainly take their own initiative to do things.

It is most probably because they went through many hardships and do not take things for granted. They experienced the war and went through things that the young people never had or even imagined. As a result, the young people of today are less hardworking and not a spendthrift. They all want the most high-tech items-i phone, i-touch and all the expensive items. The past people had to scrimp and save to survive.
Overall, i think that the parents of the younger generation should not spoil them and let them be spoilt-rotten.

  1. Yu Xiang,

you have a good point in saying it.Young people are really taking things for granted. My mother said that during her time, they washed and took care of their own things. They married at the right ages and their values were more appropriate. Now, everything is just wrong. Skimpy dressing, free (you know what) at a young age, computer addicts, pornography influence everywhere, even on the media and in songs there is sexual influence. Even what we consider as hardships are not even difficulties at all. The main reason? It is the fact that people are getting richer and richer. Therefore we must stick by our parents' style of conscience, moral values and independence.
